The Role
The Engineering Manager is a creative solution architect developing design concepts into viable products and solutions that help to maintain Legací Power at the leading-end of innovation and competitiveness within the photovoltaic (pv) market.
The engineering manager will maintain currency with all leading technologies and constantly seek innovative ways of solving the cheaper cleaner power conundrum.
An Engineer in this role will design and lead Solar PV projects across the residential, commercial, industrial and utility segments of the market scaling the engineering organization in line with growth, while managing all internal and external technology relationships and coordinating as necessary with OEM entities
Responsibilities
- Engineer, design, and detail solar rooftop photovoltaic systems constantly improving based on lessons learnt and technological advancements.
- Work with cross-functional projects teams including supply-chain and construction, as necessary to ensure the compliant realization of the designs.
- Coordinate with OEMs to optimize designs for cost, quality, compliance, and constructability.
- Scale engineering and technology capability in line with business growth.
- Hire, lead, mentor and manage engineering/technical staff.
Qualifications & Requirements
- BSc (or equivalent) Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering Degree or other related engineering field degree.
- PR Eng. registered.
- Minimum five (05) years of progressive experience and demonstrable exceptional performance – previous solar pv system design experience will be advantageous.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or other equivalent CAD software.
- Some domestic and international travel may be required to visit suppliers, customers, and installation sites.
- Excellent judgment and creative problem solving skills with strong project management and organizational skills.
- Efficiently manage multiple projects simultaneously maintaining grace under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail.
- The ability to generate new ideas and follow them through to completion.
- Strong communication skill written and verbal with good interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated, professional with a strong work ethic.
- Great team player able to work in a multicultural organization and across multiple functions.
